1. Technical Specifications and Capacity
What battery capacity do you recommend for my energy needs?
For apartments with regular occupancy, we recommend 52V batteries with a capacity of 240Ah for energy needs up to 6kW. For systems with higher instant demand, up to 10kW, we recommend a capacity of 360Ah.
How many batteries can I install if I want to expand the system in the future?
The system is fully modular – there is no limit to the number of batteries you can add in the future.
What type of battery do you recommend (Lithium-Ion, LFP, AGM, GEL)?
We exclusively recommend lithium-ion batteries. This is the only type we work with, as it reliably meets serious energy demands.
What is the round-trip efficiency of this battery?
The efficiency is 95%, ensuring minimal energy loss during charging and discharging.
How many charge-discharge cycles are expected before the capacity starts to decline significantly?
The expected lifespan is about 10,000 charge-discharge cycles before a significant drop in capacity occurs.
2. Compatibility with the Solar System
Is this battery compatible with my existing (or planned) solar panels?
Yes, it is compatible with all solar panels that are correctly connected. The most critical factor is the proper configuration of the inverter, while the battery itself is not a limiting factor.
Do I need an additional inverter, or is the battery already integrated with one?
The battery can be used without an inverter to power 52V devices. However, for home use and obtaining 220V, an appropriate inverter is required.
Is the battery compatible with my smart energy management system?
This depends on how your inverter is configured and whether communication between the system and the battery is needed. In any case, the inverter settings must be correctly adjusted.
3. Installation and Mounting
What is the ideal location for placing the battery?
Ideally, the battery should be placed in a machinery room, though this is not mandatory – there is flexibility depending on the available space.
What is the recommended method for securing the battery outdoors?
The battery is freestanding, but for certain models, wall mounting is recommended due to the shape of the casing.
How long does the installation process take?
If the solar installation is prepared, installing the battery and inverter takes about an hour.
Will there be a power outage during installation?
Yes, but it will be a very short interruption.
4. Safety Concerns
Does the battery have built-in safety features?
Yes – it includes protection against overheating, short circuits, and overvoltage.
Do I need additional safety measures, such as a casing or smoke detector?
They are not mandatory, but as with any battery system, additional measures are always advisable.
What is the protocol in case of failure?
You should contact the Eneratec technician who performed the installation or reach out directly to Eneratec.
5. Maintenance and Longevity
What are your recommendations for optimal battery maintenance?
It is best to use the battery regularly. If unused for an extended period, keep it charged between 50% and 60%. Never leave it fully charged or completely empty.
Is there an app for monitoring battery performance?
Yes, there is software that Eneratec has access to. The client can monitor the battery capacity through the inverter app.
How long is the warranty, and what does it cover?
The warranty lasts for two years and covers all manufacturing defects, except those caused by improper handling – such as opening the casing or incorrect inverter installation.
What happens when the battery reaches the end of its lifespan?
The battery can be taken to the nearest recycling center – or, as practice shows, given to scrap collectors.
6. Finances and Return on Investment
What is the total installation cost (including labor and materials)?
The total cost of the system (48V 10kW inverter and 52V 360Ah battery) with local installation is €7,100.
Are there any incentives or subsidies available for such systems?
We don’t know – we make the best batteries. You’ll need to check for incentives yourself.
How can the battery reduce my electricity bills?
Realistically, if you are connected to the grid, batteries are not a cost-saving solution. An 18kWh battery can cover about 24kWh per day, 240 days a year – which amounts to about €3.20 per day in savings.
However, if you need a backup in case of power outages, fast EV charging, or protection for sensitive devices, then a battery system is ideal – and yes, you’ll have to pay for it.
7. Upgrade and Expansion Options
Is it possible to increase the system’s capacity later on?
Yes, you can simply add another battery with the same specifications.
How many additional modules can I install?
As many as you want – the only limitation is the available space.
Can I use a different type of battery in the future?
You can, but not in combination with the existing lithium battery.
8. Certifications and Standards
Does the battery comply with EU standards?
It has a CE certificate. As for other standards (IEC 62619, UL 9540) – it probably meets them, but we don’t claim that with certainty.
Does the installer have the necessary licenses for installation?
Yes, the installer holds all the required licenses and certifications.
9. After-Sales Support
Do you offer technical support after installation?
Yes, we provide lifetime support. If you’re rude – maybe at a slightly higher price, but we’ll still help you.
How quickly can I expect service in case of a failure?
Depending on the location, usually the next day – because we want to know what’s happening with our batteries.
Are software updates available for the system?
No – the system is simple, just “+ and –”, rudimentary, which makes it perfect. There is no need for updates.
10. Practical Questions About Everyday Use
What happens to the battery in case of a power outage?
It automatically switches to discharge mode and powers the devices.
How fast does the battery charge, and how long can it power a household?
Charging time depends on the power source. If you have 8kW from solar panels, a 12kWh battery charges in about an hour and a half.
Discharge duration depends on consumption – a small refrigerator can run for up to three days, while higher consumers, such as welding or planing, will last about four hours.
How can I monitor the battery status?
You can track the charge percentage and basic battery parameters via the inverter app on your mobile phone.
